In the course of reinforcing the procurement management for its satellite subsystems, comprising platform and payload products, LuxSpace is recruiting a Procurement Subcontractor Manager for immediate employment. Job Profile An experienced procurement and subcontractor manger with the focus on space hardware, preferably with technical background is required to participate in LuxSpace satellite projects. The products of concern will be used for LuxSpace microsatellites as well as for commercial communication satellites realized by the OHBgroup. Activities comprise the complete flow from maintenance of a subcontractor database, maintenance of regular contacts with potential subcontractors and suppliers, conductance of request of proposal campaigns including subsequent contract negotiations up to subcontractor management during project implementation until delivery. Experience of working in the satellite industry and knowledge of ESA workflow methodology is a must. Tasks to be performed Being the focal point for all administrative, commercial and scheduling matters towards subcontractors Maintaining subcontractor supplier database Subcontractor development, auditing and relationship management Issuing requests for information quotation RFIRFQ Preselecting subcontractors suppliers Leading of price contract negotiations Identifying opportunities for long term agreements Implementing subcontractor and supplier management Organizing and chairing of review meetings like EQSR, etc. Candidate Profile and Qualities Good English skills spoken and written Background in satellite subsystems and equipment Experience in subcontractor management Ability to work in a multinational project team Methodical and structured workapproach Willingness to travel Taking responsibility and being proactive Driving license desirable class B EU citizenship or valid Luxembourg work permit mandatory for nationals from nonEUcountries or countries treated as such. As a Procurement Manager based in our Harwell office, youll work across the electronic and electrical space devices, and mechanical and propulsion in close connection with our Harwell site, for direct spend categories, sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, managing contracts ranging from 10K to 1M. Managing all purchasing aspects of delegated Bid and Project work packages, to ensure purchasing packages are executed in accordance with technical, program, cost and performance requirements. Key responsibilities Negotiate commercial terms and conditions for major supplier contracts, and work closely with the Contracts and Legal Department to ensure contract compliance and limitation of risk to TASUK, especially pertaining to cost and lead time Manage supplier relationships, ensuring continuous performance improvement and implementing the necessary action plans, e.g., dispute resolution, delivery time quality improvements Carrying out ongoing performance reviews and maintaining an overview of subcontractor cost, quality and schedules Being close to the strategy of different activity areas of TAS Lead year over year cost reduction efforts in support of TAS goals. Skills, qualifications and experience Experience as a procurement and contractual manager in a global supply chain environment, preferably from a space aerospace background or potentially a high technology industry managing high value, small quantity equipment. Communication and influencing skills to build productive relationships at all levels of the business Good knowledge of development and industrial project reviews. Interpersonal at all organizational levels, internal and external. Good knowledge of contractual legal terms. Using their long heritage in the space industry, they are developing the nextgeneration European launchers and manned space vehicles. Currently they are heavily involved in the development of Europes most advanced launcher and looking for a Procurement Quality Manager for both the Ariane 5 and Ariane 6 programmes. Tasks and Responsibilities Proposing adequate methods to communicate to the suppliers and control the quality of their work Negotiation of management requirements to the supplier and monitor the way they implement them in their management documentation and in their product development project Performing of assessment audits of the suppliers as necessary and monitoring the implementation of principles Negotiation, validation and checking of the application of the quality plan with the subcontractors Ensuring quality requirements are taken into account by the subcontractor and passed down to all sub tier contractors in line with upper level requirements Monitoring surveillance acceptance of activities and deliverables Ensuring problems encountered during the development are properly solve to secure the production phase Defining Quality Surveillance Plans and leading Supplier Quality Improvement Plan when necessary and propose optimizations when possible.
