Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for a AIT Quality Assurance Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. You will be responsible for assuring the quality of AIT products so as to deliver complete status for products from Stevenage. This mission is split according to the area of manufacture and integration concerned these are Cone Cylinder Structure, Panel Assembly, Mechanical CPS Integration, Electrical Integration. The QA engineer is fully empowered to manage all aspects of quality within the AIT boundary. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Ensure the proper implementation of the quality assurance rules and that company industrial processes comply with quality assurance requirements and standards. Validate the product inspection plan and handle product non conformity up to the productservice delivery to the customer. Check and assess the implementation of the quality requirements defined by the QMS and quality plan. Check that industrial processes properly comply with quality assurance requirements. Define and ensure implementation of products controls. Lead the nonconformity and waiver treatment, analyse quality non conformity and request for waiver. Monitor corrective and preventive actions participate in the tailoring of standards. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience DegreeHNC or equivalent in an Engineering related discipline with background in an Aerospace Engineering environment, preferably within the Space sector. A recognised engineering apprenticeship andor equivalent academic qualification with proven AIT, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering experience within the Aerospace industry. Good understanding of Product and Quality Assurance principles. Knowledge and or experience in the use, development and delivery of Quality and Quality principles. Good understanding of Manufacturing processes. A good understanding of Spacecraft Manufacture and build philosophies Ability to understand and embrace quality improvement initiatives.
