This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESTEC, Noordwijk Netherlands. DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Test Support Section, within the ESTEC Test Centre Division. The Section provides functional support to ESA projects and related development activities. The main tasks and responsibilities of the incumbent will include preparing the requirements related to satellite AIV ensuring the definition and implementation of a satellite AIV programme which meets project technical and programmatic requirements, having regard to model philosophy, planning, costing, risk assessment and test execution monitoring systemlevel integration and test activities participating in Test Readiness Reviews TRR and PostTest Reviews PTR as the project representative in coordination with those responsible for engineering and Product Assurance PA, participating in Test Review Boards TRB and Nonconformance Review Boards NRB as one of the project representatives, providing daily AIT reports as required supporting launch campaigns, ensuring launch facilities are inspected and verified and are in the required state of readiness for the satellite, monitoring all AITAIV activities up to launch completed in accordance with an agreed launch operations plan these activities may require physical presence for prolonged periods at the launch site in support of the launch campaign manager engineering support, monitoring and control for industrial activities related to the specification, procurement and utilisation of mechanical ground support equipment engineering support for test planning, test procedure development, test execution and test analysis, in particular for mechanical, thermal and electromagnetic testing of satellite systemssubsystems supporting the Test Centre customers through all project phases, taking into account project requirements and performance of facilities participating in formal project reviews and tender evaluation boards, usually on the AIV panel supporting definition studies in the Concurrent Design Facility at ESTEC for the discipline AIVprogrammatics participating in developing new AIV tools, preparing and implementing investments and documenting procedures participating in developing engineering standards in the Sections field of competence contributing to the dissemination of the results of activities performed and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency. In carrying out these duties, the postholder may need to visit frequently satellite developers, equipment and subsystem suppliers, plus other satellite integration and test centres. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in aerospace or mechanical engineering or a related field extensive experience of satellitelevel environmental, performance and functional tests experience of at least one complete satellite test and launch campaign in an AITAIV role experience of satellite verification engineering good knowledge of MGSE and infrastructure good knowledge and practice of standard informatics tools text editors, spreadsheets, etc.. Candidates should have good interpersonal and communication skills. They should be able to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives, as well as project deadlines. Applicants should also have good analytical, organisational and reporting skills, a proactive attitude to problemsolving and an interest in innovative technologies. For behavioural competencies expected from ESA staff, please refer to the ESA Competency Framework. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of another member state language is an asset.
