It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for an Assistant Design Engineer has arisen within the Airbus Defence and Space in Stevenage. You will join the Manufacturing Definition Design Office department. As an Assistant Design Engineer in the Mechanical Design Office, you will be carrying out a range of Design Activities as required by the Lead Designer. The department is focused on System Accommodation and Detailed Design CAD activities for Telecommunication and Observation Satellites. The successful candidate will be subject to security clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Contribute to the production of drawings, models, assembly models, Bill of Materials, Engineering Change Notes, emails, memos related to the Configured items for the allocated projects to cost and schedule as delegated by the Lead Design Engineer. Control, correctness, accuracy and relevance of the above are to be selfchecked using checklists and CATIA procedures. Help to ensuring all the MDO Assistant Design Engineer outputs for the project are correct to the project requirements as stated by the Lead Design Engineer or Responsible Engineer. All the project DO outputs must be selfchecked, and passed to the Lead Design Engineer or RE where relevant. Support to other general DO activities i.e. process improvements, bid etc. This role will involve some travels for business mainly in Toulouse and Portsmouth. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Educated to an Engineering Degree with previous experience of Design Engineering. Proven experience of Catia V5 within a SpaceAerospace Engineering environment. Knowledge of MS Office tools. Negotiation level in English French would be desirable.
