Our data is vital for weather forecasts that help to protect lives and property, as well as monitoring the environment and our changing climate. EUMETSAT, the European meteorological satellite agency is looking to recruit a Climate Data Processing Engineer on contract until June 2021, which may be extended if funding is secured. EUMETSAT and its partners are developing the Copernicus Climate Change Service C3S which will combine observations of the climate system with the latest science to develop authoritative, quality assured information about the past, current and future states of the climate globally. We need a Climate Data Processing Engineer to implement technical data processing activities to support this project. With experience of implementing, operating and validating large data volumes, you will help us to distribute and archive our data so that we can provide comprehensive and credible information to our user community. You will have a background in processing large data volumes and have outstanding programming skills. You can retrieve, handle and manipulate data in different formats, understanding the specifications of metadata required for Earth Observation data. You need to be able to clearly communicate complex ideas and be comfortable working with teams in an international environment.
