Position Reference 584 You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support to the Telecommunication Systems Technologies Section at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Telecom network standards and protocols. SATCOM system and networks from Layer 2 and above. Link layer computer simulations. Telecom networking security. Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA RD. Activities and contracts technical followup. Specific engineering support to space projects developed by ESA andor by major European industriesoperators. Validation of designs by means of analyses, simulations, laboratory testing and field trials possibly in cooperation with third parties. Design, implementation and testing tasks for technological projects. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory You have a Masters degree or equivalent qualifications in electrical, computer or telecommunications engineering. You have at least 4 years of relevant work experience. You have in depth and detailed knowledge of Telecom Networking and SATCOM systems. You have a good knowledge of networks from layer 2 and above. You are familiar with link layer computer simulations. You have a very solid background in Internet, secure IP and applicationsnetworking technologies. You have knowledge of satellite communication architectures and techniques. You have experience in analysis and design of modern digital communication systems, coding and synchronization issues. You are familiar with modern communication system and subsystem simulation techniques, as a minimum Matlab and CC program languages. The following skills would be highly desirable You have a good knowledge of modern computer systems and security testing and validation tools. You have knowledge of modern prototyping and testing methodologies for digital communication subsystems. How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
