Communications and Network Systems Engineer

This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a Consultant with at least 5 years of proven knowledge and handson experience of communications and network systems engineering with an indepth knowledge of Cisco technology and solutions. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. The successful candidate will be part of the clients Comms team which is responsible for satellite ground systems communications and network systems and services. The Comms team is in charge of developing and deploying network infrastructure and services, and, based on these, providing networking solutions to internal customers. The Consultant shall have experience with Understanding the business needs imposed by satellite ground systems environments or similar on networking and experience of translating these into needs on network infrastructure, functions and systems Ability to analyse complex systems and to present them in a comprehensible way Network engineering in such environments throughout its lifecycle, from identification of needs to deployment and operations Working with other engineers within and outside the team and with the customers users and other stakeholders Indepth knowledge of Cisco technology and solutions for these environments Ability to present, verbally and in writing, network solutions and systems in a comprehensible way Highavailability, alwayson production environments driven by high availability requirements Interacting with suppliers of network products and service providers and supporting procurements Microsoft Office Suite Desirable experience includes MSVisio application Authoring clear and concise technical documentation Voice Loop Systems VLS solutions based on VoIP Cisco Certification The working language is English.
