Space Applications Services performs space system and software engineering for the European Space Agency ESA, National Space Agencies and the space industry. We are involved in international unmanned and manned spacecraft programmes. We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Configuration Management Officer ENGSERVNAV201423 Tasks and Responsibilities The work will be performed at the European Space Research and Technology Centre ESTEC Noordwijk, The Netherlands, in the Configuration and Data Management Unit. You will have the following responsibilities Establishing adequate processes for proper Product configuration control, including o Configuration management planning. o Configuration items identification, technical requirements base lining, production and maintenance of configuration item data list CIDL. o Management of configuration evolution, baselines verification, asbuilt control and inspections. Establishment of configuration control methods, procedures and standards. Establishing andor assuring that adequate configuration control methods, procedures and standards are established andor maintained, consistent with applicable standardsrequirements. Preparing formal requirements for inclusion in industrial contracts. Participating in Project Reviews. Conducting configuration audits and configuration inspections. Providing status data and maintaining a well structured record system acting as secretary to appropriate Boards established for the processing of changes. Establishing and maintaining the approval system for all documents under formal ESA control, and maintaining the associated DRLs and DRDs. Supporting the supervision and maintenance of the documentation library and archives. Proposing automated methods and tools required to increase performance of configuration and documentation control tasks. Supervising the processing and disposition of Change Requests andor Change Proposals. Qualifications, Experience and Skills Applicants should have a Master degree in Engineering and several years experience in Configuration Management in space companies and ESA. Furthermore, candidates should have following experience and skills High level of initiate autonomy, and professional maturity that is required to carry out complex tasks and high level of responsibility. A high level of computer and database skills. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
