Cotton futures have surged above their recent price range in the last week in New York, over a continuous jump in export sales. India's production could be much smaller than expected, whereas strong demand is reported from Pakistan, Turkey, Bangladesh and Vietnam, meaning cotton prices could stay firm in the coming period.
