Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

2018-09-26 19:19:44| EmergingTextiles.com

Cotton futures have last week plunged in New York, over anticipations of a longer US-China trade war than earlier expected. The conflict could result in US export sales slowing down, due to prohibitive import tariffs at China's border, already effective from last July. Demand from China is however expected surging in the current season, therefore favoring other origins than US, whereas a continuously rising demand from Vietnam and Bangladesh will continue supporting cotton prices. Our weekly cotton report covers the international futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India and Pakistan are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download.
