Cotton Prices on International and Domestic Markets (Weekly Report)

Cotton prices have last Friday surged in New York, over the announcement of a partial deal between the United States and China. Euphoria could rapidly fade however, as many details of the agreement still need to be finalized. US tariffs on Chinese apparel will be maintained, and long-term factors do not favor a rebound of cotton prices, as indicated by the latest USDA data.
