A fall in expected US cotton output in the coming season has boosted cotton futures in New York, whatever the currently low level in the textile production worldwide. Brazilian exports have been depressed by a Chinese shift to US fibers, whereas demand from Turkey and Vietnam has remained strong in the past months, as reflected by our new export tables. Our weekly cotton report covers the futures market in New York and China, and the physical indicator "A Index". Domestic cotton prices in China, India, Pakistan, and Brazil are also reviewed through a large number of tables and charts. All data are available for download. [ more ]
