You will provide expert consultancy services to a multidisciplinary engineering team at EUMETSAT supporting the operational and future missions. A core activity will be related to the definition and maintenance of applications in the area of Analysis, Monitoring and Reporting tools built to support the quality analysis and monitoring of spacecraft telemetry, instruments and data production. Moreover, you will support consultancy services to the Operations Department in the frame of running LEOGEO missions and their data and product processing systems. Overall you will be a key part of the core of all EUMETSAT ongoing and future missions and an essential part of the entire organization to achieve success! ResponsibilitiesDuties Definition, design, implementation and maintenance of architectures for data processing ground segments and their components. Support the operations of existing data processing ground segments and their maintenance and evolution. Perform routine tasks in operational systems under configuration control. Development, integration and configuration management of software developed by third parties. Software engineering activities such as SW testing against specifications and requirements and SW integration and verification. Setup and implementation of maintenance policies and procedures. Support with the procurement and installation of software and coordination with the external providers. QualificationsExperience University degree in a relevant discipline. Relevant experience in the field of data processing and data provision for Earth Observation space missions Experience in software design and development. Essential Skills Ability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation in English. Demonstrated experience with CC in a UNIXLINUX environment application programming Languages MySQL, ORACLE, etc scripting languages Python, Java knowledge of web technologies CGI, JavaScript, UML knowledge of XML. Desirable Skills Competence in objectoriented software design. Experience with the programming of IDL and Fortran.
