Job description For our customer, ESA in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking a Data Systems Management Engineer Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken are Development and maintenance of Mission Data Systems, including technical management of projects, specifying requirements for MDS, and supporting the customer in project activities including testing, deployment, configuration, etc Support to mission critical activities, providing software support to the customer and operational environment preparation Support to missions during the whole mission lifetime, supporting the programme lifecycle formal reviews, tests, etc Support to special projects, supporting the customer in the technical and organizational activities related to special projects Support to study, innovation and standardization activities Other tasks, such as technical support to the customer management, support to improvements in tools and processes, support to other related areas of the customer. This is a fulltime position as a Terma employee for placement at ESOC, Darmstadt, Germany, starting ASAP. Qualifications Competencies Applicants shall have a Master degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or other suitable qualification. Essential Skills are Knowledge on the specific application data system its environment and the relevant technology and infrastructure Knowledge and experience in the ESOC software engineering methodology and standards Competence in modern computer languages such as C, C, Java, UML, XML, SQL Familiarity with the ESOC software development environments and systems, including DOORS Familiarity with relevant operating systems, including LINUX Knowledge on relevant space related standards Knowledge on recent new technologies and their application e.g. virtualisation, cloud computing, virtualisation, service oriented architecture. Wellorganised, proactive, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Capable of coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Knowledge of the METERON systems, in particular MOE and MOPS would be an important asset Knowledge of CCSDS Mission Operation MO Services, ESA GSTVi systems and dtn would be an asset. You shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan your work and cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. You shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important.
