We are currently looking for a Development Engineer Optical Verification Test to support our customer in Germany. Development Engineer Optical Verification Test Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will support the optical instrument projects in the area of engineering and technical procurement of optical ground support equipment and metrology tools. Main tasks involve performing optical tests and measurements in the context of the verification of instruments and critical technologies in the Optics Laboratory, your responsibilities will include Definition of concepts, engineering and design of Optical Ground Support Equipment OGSE and metrology equipment based on the overall instrument verification approach Specification of OGSE and metrology requirements Provision of technical support for the procurement of OGSE and metrology components OGSE and optical metrology operations during instrument Assembly Integration Test AIT campaigns Definition, engineering and assembly of test setups for optical tests e.g. wave front error, polarisation, stray light, etc Definition and development of software and tools required for optical tests Performance of optical tests using the Optics facilities, including thermalvacuum chambers Evaluation and reporting of test data. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University Degree in Physics or Engineering with specialization in OpticsOptronics Previous work experience in the use of Zemax, Python, Code V is highly desired Work experience in an optical background Independent, structured and resultsoriented work for a quick and direct target delivery Willingness to go on business trips within Europe The ability to communicate constructively and effectively with national and international with various partners Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
