Airbus Defence and Space is a division of Airbus Group formed by combining the business activities of Cassidian, Astrium and Airbus Military. A vacancy for a EGNOS Junior Performance Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn. The successful applicant will join TSEIG4 Navigation Products. Position pending on successful contract award to Airbus for EGNOS V3 phase CD. EGNOS is a satellite based European augmentation system for GPS signals and the upcoming European Navigation system Galileo. Currently the next generation EGNOS V3 is under development. The EGNOS Performance Engineer will work in the EGNOS V3 team thereby supporting the EGNOS performance and qualification activities. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Contribute to development, implementation, and verification of upcoming exploitation phase of EGNOS Support analysis of signal in space performance and functionality in contribution to the consolidation of the system level design Support specification of system algorithms Support system simulations, performance assessment and analysis Support the determination of system state probabilities and availability of system elements Support analysis of error budget contributors of GNSS signals ODTS error, troposphere, ionosphere including scintillations as input data for service volume analysis and raw data generation Support troubleshooting and determination analysis of anomalies Support the definition of data analysis methods Support the enhancement of system performance analysis tools and Software Presentation of results in front of the customer and conferences. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Masters Degree in Maths, Natural Science or equivalent Theoretical and practical knowledge of satellite based navigation systems like EGNOS, Galileo, GPS Solid experience in Engineering Understanding of satellite data dissemination flow and navigation message generation and processing Understanding of GNSS end user constraints and GNSS applications Experience in standard engineering software development languages like Matlab and CC Knowledge of GNSS signals error budget contributors like ODTS, Ionosphere incl. scintillations, troposphere is desirable Knowledge in preprocessing of navigation messages is desirable The candidate shall work autonomously, shall be able to analyse complex project situations and shall be teamminded Willing to travel English advanced Please apply for this vacancy at our careers site www.jobs.airbusgroup.com with your CV attached.
