Engineer, Development Operations Betzdorf Luxembourg YOUR ROLE The position is responsible for the development and management of work packages across the Business Applications portfolio and IT infrastructure solutions used in SES, the group including affiliated companies. The position is also responsible for providing IT project support within the organization in the context of customer related projects. The incumbent will execute projects and ensure support and maintenance within the Business Applications delivery field, while ensuring a timely task and project implementation. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure the definition and implementation of work packages to support and maintain the Business Applications system architecture hardware installation, networks, software deployment, client rollout, Ensure the installation, maintenance, monitoring and documentation of operating systems, application software and system management tools Actively participate in the continuous improvement and automation of the IT environments Take on responsibility for timely implementation for hisher projects and activities Take ownership of resolving assigned tasks and problems resulting in problem resolution Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement potential fixes Positively interact with IT and business stakeholders Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Undertake Second Level oncall support to assist the SES teams on application or system issues outside office hours Stay uptodate with stateoftheart concepts and technologies, and use this knowledge to analyse and maintain systems Provide input to the Manager, Development Operations for administrative and management tasks Ensure that all systems selected or developed comply with prevailing IT Architectural Standards including but not limited to security standards and Information Security policies Evaluate application opportunities and threats by new trends and developments in and outside of SES YOUR PROFILE Minimum Bachelor Degree in Information and Communications Technology ICT or equivalent Minimum 57 years of applicable professional experience Ability to work internationally in a matrixmanaged, resultsoriented environment Able to exchange ideas and information effectively in a concise logical way and be sensitive to audience diversity Selfmotivated and demonstrate a doer mentality Fluency in English, any other language is considered as an asset Willingness to travel internationally Ability to interpret complex technical issues and communicate the business value of IT standards and structured approach Strong analytical and problem solving skills ability to interpret complex technical issues and communicate the business value of IT standards and structured approach Sound technical understanding of the IT landscape and related technical skills as well as its business application DevOps lifecycle, automation, orchestration, and current best practices Continuous Integration tools JenkinsHudson, Bamboo, Maven, etc. Java development basic skills log file analysis, packaging, etc Continuous Delivery tools docker, puppet, etc. Experience with Service Oriented Architecture SOA and Application Program Interfaces APIs Cloud Backup and restore Monitoring and distributed logging Virtualization concepts Application platform as a Service Cloud experience privatepublic cloud Hardware and Network Understanding of Proxies, Firewalls Understanding of virtualization Load balancing and failover High availability environments setup Application knowledge Rich client, Application Server, Enterprise Service Bus Deployment architecture definition development, acceptance and production environments definition Release management, software rollout techniques, deployment Software Environments VMWare ESX Servers Microsoft Windows Server 200820122016, Linux CentOS, RedHat Tomcat 78, VMWarePivotal vFabric tcServer, Hyperic, Spring Insight Java 78 basic knowledge Apache HTTP Server Load Balancing Oracle database 11g12c Workspace manager, Data guard configuration Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft IIS We offer you A diverse workplace.
