Key Tasks and Responsibilities The primary area of responsibility is Test Validation in the AOCS domain TVA for Science Missions, including interplanetary missions and missions in Lagrangian orbits. As a member of a team providing services to ESOC you will be providing support for Attitude Determination for Science Missions Test and Validation Validation of operational Flight Dynamics data products such as command parameter sets, reports, event predictions and acquisition data before delivery to Flight Control Team and other users Validation of operational Flight Dynamics subsytems processes and procedures Maintenance and sustaining of software elements of the Flight Dynamics Application Layer Flight Dynamics System Development primarily in the TVA domain Installation of modifications, enhancements and additions to existing software elements on operational platforms design, coordination and implementation of tests Setup procedures Mission support for active spacecraft BepiColombo, MarsExpress, Gaia, ExoMars TGO, SolarOrbiter Running existing procedures on a predefined schedule during routine operations to validate internal and external products Support recovery from contingency situations under highstress timeconstrained conditions Participation in regular and adhoc meetings to support nominal and contingency operations Preparation for new mission phases, including software updates, new software development, writingmaintaining procedures, and participating in validation campaigns Launch preparation for upcoming missions ExoMars RSP, Euclid, JUICE Configure existing generic TVA software to support validation of the command and attitude FD systems Develop new software, including regression tests and documentation, required to support validation of the command and attitude FD systems Define and write procedures in terms of documents, and semiautomated scripts to execute the procedures Participation in simulation campaigns Participation in LEOP and early mission phase Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant engineering field, astronomy, mathematics or physics Familiarityexperience with Flight Dynamics operations engineering tasks Very good skills in linear algebra, in particular for problem solving related to geometry in the Euclidean 3dimensional space Very good skills in calculus in one or several variables Skills in numerical methods for equations solving, integration of differential equations, function approximation and interpolation and optimisation Very good skills in classical mechanics, including but not limited to dynamics of rigid bodies, conservation laws in mechanics, orbit dynamics etc. Ability to develop solutions to technical problems in cooperation with customers and other experts Very good C programming skills and experience Experience in Linux operating system Experience with network services and protocols, and system administration Experience in scripting languages, python, mathematica Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
