A vacancy for a GNSS Performance Engineer mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn. The successful applicant will join Navigation Products. What can you expect? You will contribute to the ongoing deployment and exploitation phase of Galileo, the European satellite navigation system, as well as the definition of the future second generation of Galileo by contributing on system performance and integrity aspects. You will join the Airbus Navigation Department. With more than 60 engineers and almost 20 years of experience it is one of the leading expert groups in Europe for the development and implementation of the European satellite navigation systems EGNOS and Galileo. In your daily activities you can expect Management of system performance budgets in combination with underlying system modelling to provide the required statistical evidences Full responsibility for the definition and assessment of service performance parameters aligned to system and service requirements Contribution to the assessment of performance of Galileo clocks and timing service and support to anomaly investigations and setup calibrations Contribution to the implementation of Galileo SafetyofLife support functions for EGNOS and ARAIM by definition and assessment of feared events, integrity trees and system models in combination with collection of empirical evidence. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. What are we looking for? You are educated to a masters degree in an Engineering discipline such as Navigation, Telecommunication, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Geodesy, Geoinformatics, or equivalent. You have demonstrated experience in satellite navigation systems, in particular GPS, Galileo and SBAS You have shown specific experience for timing aspects such as GNSS based UTC timing services, clock synchronization concepts and clock characterization You have detailed understanding of GNSS safetyoflife applications and integrity concepts using Advanced RAIM or SBAS You have gained profound knowledge on GNSS algorithms for service provision and user processing including precise positioning concepts You are experienced in software engineering with Python or Matlab You have demonstrated ability to analyze complex technical problems and define innovative solutions You are motivated to work within an international culture You are fluent English and advanced German language skills Please apply for this vacancy at our careers site www.jobs.airbusgroup.com with your CV attached.
