It employs some 40,000 employees generating revenues of approximately 14 billion per year. A vacancy for an Industrial Operations Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Portsmouth. You will provide dedicated support to management of waveguides multiproject planning, coordination of design releases to suppliers, reporting of industrial status, compliance with cost, schedule and quality targets. You will provide support to Prepare for Assembly and Supply Chain teams and participate in schedule and cost improvement initiatives within Airbus and with suppliers. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Interface with waveguide procurement team and waveguide suppliers. Accountable for OQ OT OC delivery of waveguides. Review process metrics extracted from company databases and ERP tools e.g. SAP and provide regular reportsanalysis of typical performance, trends etc. Active monitoring control of the Suppliers. Advance planning and daily management of waveguide design releases and agreement of WG design with suppliers. Lead progress meetingsproduction reviews including quality gates. Identify improvement opportunities, including definition of associated savings. Participate in implementation of process changes in coordination with relevant stakeholders. Maintain a close communication and coordination with the Payload project teams. Contribute to the annual supplier evaluation SED as appropriate. Identify risks and propose mitigation actionsagree recovery plans with relevant stakeholders. Contribute to supplier development and ensure local followup of the development plans in coordination with Supplier Development Team. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Engineering background with proven experience in a DefenceAerospace environment. Proven experience in Procurement or Specifying andor Purchasing Machined Parts is mandatory. Working knowledge of ERPMRP tools ideally SAP. Knowledge of product assurance principles and quality systems such as AS9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 would be a plus. Awareness of appropriate standards for space, ESA, ECSS, DSCC, MIL. Good knowledge of CADM processes would be a strong asset. Advanced capabilities with Microsoft office applications is mandatory. Ability to communicate and to coordinate at all levels is required.
