Thorn SDS is looking for a Junior Earth Observation Spacecraft Operations Engineer to join our team based at the European Space Operations Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. This is a great opportunity to develop and grow your career in a multinational environment under the guidance of industry experts. Candidates must be excellent communicators in English with a passion for the Space Industry and able to work in Europe without restriction. Our responsibility is the Spacecraft Platform Thermal, Power and TTC in support of current and future Earth Observation missions. The role will develop with the phases of the missions, so we are looking for someone who can demonstrate initiative and flexibility in a fast paced environment. With 12 years experience of the full life cycle of spacecraft flight procedures, you must have carried out validation and testing, with relevant experience of low Earth orbit satellite operations. You will have worked on anomaly investigations and have developed appropriate programming skills. Juggling tasks and making the most of the resources available to you will be essential in this role. You will work with colleagues and partners, so you must be a team player with an ability to communicate complex ideas in a concise way. This is a role with huge potential and we fully expect candidates to progress enormously, advancing into other engineering roles.
