For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking a satellite Monitoring Control Subsystem MCS Engineer required as part of the MTG ground segment team. The key person will be based in the Geostationary Orbit GEO Division as a member of the Mission Operations System team. Tasks Support to the maintenance of MTG Mission Operations Facility requirement specification in the area of Monitoring Control System and liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirements baseline Follow up the MTG MCS procurement to make sure that the delivery fits the intended purpose Support the MTG ground segment team, the Mission Operations Facility manager and the ground segment manager Interact with suppliers and partner organisations Participation to the Reviews for the Monitoring and Control Subsystem and interfacing facilities Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings Maintenance i.e. mainly configuration and installation of the SCOS 2000 MCS demonstrator installed for familiarisation of the operations preparation team with the Mission Operations Facility MCS Analysis, review and generation of any relevant MTG documentation Maintenance and evolution of Mission Operations Facility Java Eclipse RCP RAP based tools established in the frame of Phase B. At a later stage in the programme, these additional tasks may be requested Participation test conduction and or witnessing to MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem facilities testing and related activities on facility as well as on system level Analysis of test results and test reports on facility as well as on system level in particular with respect to their suitability for requirement verification and validation Installation of the MTG Monitoring and Control Subsystem at EUMETSAT, while fulfilling the configuration management requirements Verification of correct facility installation Monitor and, where applicable, steer the lifecycle for all related anomaly reports ARsnonconformance reports NCRs Preparation and production of routine reports, as necessary. Qualifications and Requirements Applicants require a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline. The key person shall also have a demonstrated experience of spacecraft andor ground segment procurement. The key person shall have a goaloriented attitude with a good level of communication skills enabling working in a highly flexible integrated team. Essential The key person shall have, as a prerequisite a demonstrated experience of five years in the following Mission Control Subsystem specifications development and or procurement within a space system In depth knowledge of SCOS 2000 based Monitoring and Control Subsystems The ECSS Packet Utilization Standard PUS TM TC Database design, implementation and testing SCOS 2000 based onboard software function AIV related activities test procedure generation, requirements verification and validation Eclipse RCP RAP Java, C and C UNIX operating system usage. Desirable ECSS Space Engineering Standards, in particular those related to Mission Control IBM DOORS Operations Preparation Automation i.e. procedures activation and execution Spacecraft Simulator based on SIMSAT Ground segment monitoring control SCOS 2000 based Monitoring and Control Subsystems Maintenance GEO Spacecraft routine operations CVS Version Control software Configuration Control software e.g. Dimensions. The key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other.
