Manager, O3B mPOWER Integration and Test Luxembourg Betzdorf Role description summary The Manager, O3B mPOWER Integration and Test is responsible for the setup and management of the team for the system integration testing and verification. The endtoend services of a MEO satellite constellation link are integrated and tested and require a thorough process of integration testing and validation. The system components integrated include an endtoend Modem Platform test environment, a MEO satellite link emulator environment and a resource allocation software dedicated for the link management of the system. For the system validation phase, the Manager of the Test and Integration team will be responsible of validation testing and support the transition of the system from validation testing in the Lab into an operational environment and ensure through an initial phase of live air testing the transition to operations of crucial systems. Primary responsibilities Key result areas Lead the O3b mPOWER System Test and Integration team for integration and validation testing of the endtoend MEO communication system for Fix and Mobile satellite services using O3b mPOWER Specify and setup a lab environment intended to become a full test setup for O3b mPOWER Define Test plans and procedures for integration and validation plans of the overall endtoend communication system Review System design documentation for space segment and Ground segment of the O3b mPOWER system Participate in O3b mPOWER system reviews for the space segment, ground segment and service software projects Review and comment the O3b mPOWER requirements, concepts of operation, interfaces and define accordingly the test plans Qualifications Experience Bachelor or Masters degree in an Engineering or Science discipline such as Aerospace engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or a related scientificengineering fields. Minimum 15 years of work experience in Satellite communications domain, working on development of Modem system, Satellite Terminals, Satellite endtoend communication systems Work experience with hardware or software development related to the Ground segment of satellite communication systems Work experience of leading test and integration teams related to satellite communications, test plans and procedures for integration testing Essential experience Experience with satellite communication systems, transmission standards, modulation and decoding techniques of satellite communication paths, satellite transmission standards DVBS2S2X, DVBRCS2 Experience with software development processes, integration and test procedures, unit testing, concepts of automated testing of software integrated systems Experience with hardware electronic development cycles and related integration and testing processes Experience with Satellite systems and space segment operational concepts ConOps Highly desirable experience several of the following Software Quality assurance and management experience Knowledge and basic experience of Software testing methods Knowledge of testing procedure automation, and automated unit testing methodologies Experience with some basic software development with proven projects in commercial operation today Knowledge basis of agile methodologies for software development Experience with collaborating software development tools such as GITHUB and JIRA, SVN Experience with database techniques such as SQL for example Experience with Integrated Development Environment IDE ie Eclipse, Visual Studio, etc Experience in utilities programming, debuggers and debugging techniques Experience with virtualization techniques and operating systems. Proven work attitude Highly reliable Highly motivated and ability to set priorities autonomously in a complex schedule requirements context Ability to work under deadlines towards a longterm objective Leadership skills proven from previous work experience and clear team player mentality Easiness to communicate at all levels Other key requirements comments Work with cross discipline international teams software experts, satellite and telecom experts, sales, business experts, etc. Ability to synthesize and prioritize the essential requirements from a set of complex defined set of requirements Work on an iterative basis with stakeholders during design and prototyping Relentless focus on collaboration and teamwork Work with remote management and team members Team mindset of collaboration to work on a joint longterm goal Excellent written and verbal communication skills Commitment to deadlines and willingness to meet tight development schedules Fluent in English, other languages are beneficial Must be either EU Citizen or eligible to work in the EU Significant travel required especially to the US Whats in it for you?
