U.S. new home sales rose by 2.2% in May to an annual rate of 546,000 units; this represents the highest level since February 2008 according to U.S. Department of Commerce. If the sales momentum continues and new housing starts increase to meet demand, Masco spin-off TopBuild Corp. should see a considerable benefit in revenue growth and increased operating profits.
