For Astrium Space Transportation in Bremen within the area Vehicle Engineering for the department Mechanical Engineering we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer mf Dymanics. Astrium is the prime contractor for the Ariane 5 Launcher, the Automated Transfer Vehicle ATV and many more spacecraft. The transportation system is mainly driven by its performance and its costs. Mass is therefore a crucial element, and one of the key disciplines involved in optimising in terms of mass and costs a transportation system is Mechanical Engineering. This is a complex multidisciplinary and challenging task. Your responsibilities will include Carrying out predimensioning, analyses, strength verifications and qualifications of complex structures e.g. Launcher Upper Stage for Ariane 5 spacecraft and their primary structures Performingcreating load assumptions and definitions Performing supplier management Independently performing predimensioning and verification analyses, using analytical tools as well as commercial software Performing static strength and also dynamic analyses using finite element programs NASTRANAbaqus Developing models derived from CAD data Catia Performing FE analyses to determine the strength, deformations, stability, frequencies and stresses derived from the thermal environment Verifying IF strength e.g. riveted joints, bolted connections, composite structures Postprocessing using PATRAN Carrying out the analyses under your responsibility within the team Interpreting, documenting and presenting the results Writing design proposals to achieve the functional, mass and cost targets Considering the boundary conditions system aspects, production processes, material selection Test coordination Defining the need for the tests Writing the request for test question Performing test followup Assessing the test Producing documentation We are looking for candidates with the following skills Engineering degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace or equivalent Deep knowledge of and experience in theory and application of NASTRAN and NASTRAN DMAP programming language for dynamic analyses Deep knowledge and experience in experimental Landing Dynamic Shock, Crash Deep knowledge and experience with Fortran, Matlab and Patran or Hypermesh Deep knowledge in structural dynamics, especially analytical and experimental modal analysis, dynamic response analysis Considerable analytical skills A fluent negotiation level of English, intermediate level of German, basic knowledge of French If you are interested in this position, please apply online via www.jobs.eads.com.
