ATG Europe is currently looking for a Mechanical RD Engineer, specialized in either composite technology or optomechanics, to be deployed at our customers location in Munchen, Germany. Our client is one of the top players in the European space technology industry offering solutions for satellites, complex scientific instruments and space missions. In this position, you will be working in the mechanical design department. You will be working on the design and development of sophisticated lightweight structures or optomechanical assemblies for a large space project. Your responsibilities in this position include v Design and development of solutions for lightweight structures or optomechanical assemblies v Support of design tradeoffs in collaboration with other technical disciplines optics, structural and thermal, electronics, etc. v Analysis of mechanical interfaces and preparation of relevant drawings v Continuous monitoring of compliance with technical requirements, such as assembly and weight requirements v Design of assemblies and individual parts with CATIA V5 v Creating of compliant manufacturing documents v Participating in the preparation of technical documentation v Support of production planning and maintenance v Technical management of external development contracts in the context of work packages. Requirements v University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace engineering with a focus on mechanical design v A minimum of 5 years of experience in the either design of lightweight and sandwich structures aluminum or fiber composite technology in the aerospace technology andor in the design of optomechanical assemblies v Sound knowledge of various design methods v Solid experience in CAD design with CATIA V5 v Able to work independently with a high level of responsibility v Structured and goaloriented work attitude v Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
