Airbus Defence and Space A vacancy for a Mechanical Structure Engineering Manager mf has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space at its Toulouse site. The successful candidate will join the TLS Damper Equipment team. As Head of Engineering within the Mechanical and Structural Engineering department, you will be in charge of performance financial and programme as well as development, from the design up to the production of mechanical structures. You will ensure relations with the project, and will supervise the design and industrial monitoring team. You will work with the following technologies SiC structures, CFRP and GFRP composite structures and metal structures. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Technically summarising the mechanics of the developed hardware Defining the work plan for the detailed definition and acceptance activities designanalysistesting Leading the design and industrial monitoring team from 3 to 5 people per product Managing the costs and lead time for the department services Performing industrial monitoring of the developed mechanical hardware Interfacing with the project group and ensuring the reporting Participating in responses to calls for tender and ensuring the interface with the agencies for the development of new technologies. This role will require travel in Europe during the industrial monitoring phases several days approximately 4 times per year. As the successful candidate, you will be able to demonstrate some of the following skills and experience Qualified engineer or university equivalent 5year degree in the field of mechanical engineering At least 5 years of experience in mechanical analysis andor in a mechanical engineering Design Office Proficiency in mechanical constraints connected with the space environment or equivalent and sizing rules for structures, especially SiC structures Strong technical skills in the mechanical and thermal engineering profession, ideally in the field of ceramics Proficiency in design aid tools risk analysis, value engineering, functional analysis, engineering and development plan definition Proficiency in the technological processes for the materials used in products developed by the Design Office and industrial design rules Experience in production, AIT or production monitoring is desirable Ideally, initial experience in managingcoordinating technical teams Synthesis and decisionmaking skills Ability to integrate within a team and adapt Meticulous nature, the ability to take initiative, and a responsive and autonomous approach Good interpersonal and communication skills writtenoral Negotiation level of English, proficiency in French would be an asset.
