EUMETSAT is the European operational satellite agency for monitoring weather, climate and the environment, pulling together the resources of 30 Member States. We observe the atmosphere, ocean and land surfaces from Space, 365 days a year, offering images and data to provide insights into weather situations, environmental hazards and climate change. Our work helps users worldwide to monitor changes in these to protect lives, lifestyles and properties. The Meteosat Third Generation MTG programme will see the launch of six new geostationary imaging and sounding satellites from 2021 onwards. This programme will ensure the user community can look forward to continued visible observations from geostationary orbit, as well as the use of observations from infrared and ultravioletvisible sounding instruments. MTG ground segment elements are being procured for the processing requirements of MTG imager and sounder data, and EUMETSATs infrastructure is being upgraded to accommodate the future needs of the MTG mission. We are recruiting for an engineer to help us integrate those elements and verify the overall MTG ground segment. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to get involved in a long term programme where your expertise in integration and verification, preferably of Earth Observation satellite systems, will be fully realised. You will support the AIV Team Leader in many engineering activities and will have the opportunity to utilise your experience of DOORS and knowledge of ECSS engineering standards.
