We are currently looking for a Mission Control Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Mission Control Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities Maintain an understanding of the MSG mission, as well as space and ground segment operational needs for mission control within the central facility Define, update, validate and document the mission control operations concept Liaise with the spacecraft operations team, mission planning and flight dynamics teams and ground and system operations teams to support continuity and optimisation of new or modified spacecraft monitoring and control operational needs Define and maintain missioncontrol operations procedures Liaise with external entities and partners to fulfil joint operations requirements Perform routine observations preventative maintenance on mission control functions Respond to mission control related anomalies and operational contingencies Raise anomaly reports when necessary and monitor their resolution Generate formal engineering changes Definite, implement, and test any changes to the mission control application software or to inhouse supporting software Operational validation of new mission control application software. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a technical discipline Several years work experience in operations preparation and routine operations of GEO andor LEO satellite systems and their associated ground segments Verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems software Operation of the MSG Central Facility system Mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite mission control operations Databases and SQLrelated querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems Use of satellite simulators and satellite control systems Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
