Telespazio VEGA Deutschland has been supporting the European Space Industry for over 30 years, including ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT and CNES. This is an opportunity for a motivated and experienced engineer to work for our EUMETSAT customer within a new and interesting space mission. Sentinel3 is a Low Earth Orbiting mission in the context of the Copernicus Services set up by the European Commission. The first satellite, Sentinel3A, is expected to launch mid2015 with the second satellite Sentinel3B operating in tandem and due for launch 18 months later. EUMETSATs monitors and controls Sentinel 3 satellites and generates near realtime and offline products to support the marine user community. Telespazio VEGA offers a permanent position based in EUMETSAT, Darmstadt, Germany with an expected starting date in March 2015. Application closing deadline is October 31st, 2014. RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES The Mission and Control System Engineer MCSE shall mainly perform tasks related to Copernicus Sentinel3 mission control during the routine operations phase. The tasks primarily involve the management and use of the Flight Operations Segment Mission Control System FOS MCS based on SCOS2000 as well as the satellite software simulator, the Network Data Interface Unit NDIU, being the interface to the SBand TTC ground station equipment. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE Together with a relevant engineering degree the engineer need to have first years working experience in the following operation of spacecraft control systems using SCOS2000, NDIU, satellite software, Simulator, PSS developing andor maintaining spacecraft mission control systems software for a Linux operating system ESSENTIAL SKILLS Very good command of the English language Ability to work in international teams Good communication and mediation skills, proactive and confident personality DESIRABLE SKILLS Basic German BENEFITS Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities and Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
