ORION Systems Engineer Start date and duration Position starting as soon as feasible on a one year contract. Client and Location For one of our customers we are currently recruiting an ORION Systems Engineer for their location in Bremen, Germany. Orion is NASAs next spacecraft to send humans further into space than ever before, beyond the Moon and even to Mars. For this exciting program an Orion System Engineer is needed who is located within the department System Architecture and operationally reports to the campaign leads in the Orion project. Tasks and Responsibilities Be part of an integrated team, which is responsible for the successful completion of the qualification campaign for the first European Service Module, to develop, to design, to test, to qualify, to certify, to support, to improve subsystem, equipment, component or module during the whole implementation phase including responsibility for integration, verification and validation by writing the adequate technical documents specifications, failure mode analysis, functional descriptions, sizing documents, stress analysis, test analysis Identify the activities of the development life cycle that are necessary to develop a systemproduct and provide the level of confidence which is consistent with regulation and program requirements Define checkpoints and reviews with associated maturity expectation aligned with program phases and gates Provide sufficient detailed data and information about system elements to enable the implementation consistent with architectural entities as defined in models and views of the system architecture and in accordance with the allocated requirements Work closely sharing both industrial and functional design view, from the very early stages of the design through the serial production phase and up to the in service life of the product whole product lifecycle Working in close collaboration between the Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and any other disciplines involved throughout the whole product lifecycle Understand the organization, infrastructure, constraints and limitations of program industrial planning Understand global systemsproducts and their interdependencies during industrialization phase Derive from higher level requirements detailed technical design requirements for componentequipment Support Supply chain Operation Manager SOM as equipment technical authority by Monitor compliance to technical requirements and ensure delivery dates Manage compliance matrix and access RFDRFW Evaluate supplier change requests Participate to equipment and component milestones to ensure successful SS andor Systemintegration Drive actively solution of technical problems in close cooperation with supplier and SS team Push project reviews by pulling technical support of subcontractors andor suppliers. Experience and Education At least a Master, or an equivalent diploma, in Engineering or Aerospace More than 3 years of related work experience in Engineering, Production, ITInformation systems, quality management, distribution Practical experience with Development Design DD, Validation Verification VV of Space system, component andor equipment A basic knowledge of ECOSIM is considered a plus A basic knowledge of CATIA is considered a plus Experience with Matlab and Doors Advanced level of German Fluent level of English Experience with requirements management Experience with Assembly, Integration and Testing AIT with strong process awareness Experience with proposal support Experience with supplier technical followup RAMS awareness Experience with Space agencies is highly appreciated Ability to operate in a large multinational team organization Work style characterized by autonomy, initiative and cooperation Good communication and interpersonal skills and social competence.
