October 2014 PERIOD 2 years 2 options for extension, each option stands for 1 year LOCATION Darmstadt TYPE OF BUSINESS Science CONTRACT Freelancer parttime basis WORKING LANGUAGE English, French is considered an advantage DEADLINE 11.08.2014 MUSTHAVE SKILLS MANDATORY The key person providing the service shall have experience with the installation and configuration of ORACLE databases and must mandatorily provide the following skills as part of this support Expert knowledge in the field of database installation, configuration and tuning Knowledge of ORACLE database products v10g11g enterprise edition and previous versions Knowledge of ORACLE database installation Knowledge of database programming Knowledge of database performance monitoring and tuning Ability to write technical documentation in English. Experience of providing services in a 24 x 7 operational or production environment, with strict change control rules applied, is essential. TASKS The service activities include the planning, the installation and the configuration of ORACLE database installations via individual service requests. These service requests are issued in the form of Work Packages with a maximum effort allocation and cover activities ranging from the preparation planning of installations to actual installations, configuration and testing of database systems. These can be any of the following activities Planning and preparation of ORACLE database products Actual software installation under Configuration Management control Statement of Work for ORACLE Installation and Configuration Service Planning and installation of databases Testing of installations Performance monitoring and tuning Implementation and test of database backup and recovery Database migration support Supporting personnel Documentation of all activities performed. The service requests will be issued via individual work packages within an overall Limit of Liability for the overall framework. The work packages will be issued according to actual needs. The minimum notice period for a work package is 2 weeks.
