Performance Simulation Engineer 1411087 Job Description For our customer ESA, we are looking for a Simulation Engineer to work on site at ESTEC in the Netherlands. The main tasks of the selected engineer can be summarised as follows operate, control and maintain the HW SW infrastructure, including task preparation in the perspective of rehearsalscommissioning activities generation of simulated instrument data Packets using instrument simulators SPS processing of instrument data packet to generate Optical and Topography data products using processors GPP analysis of anomalies on the instrument simulator and the data products processors analysis of results on packet level depending on a defined success criteria support the preparation and execution of the Ground System Validation GSV support to specifications of expected anomaly corrections and MMI improvements implement the nominal and contingency test procedures for the execution of the activities defined for all calibration and validation tasks during the commissioning phase, being responsible for the execution of the test procedure development of any helper tool and software useful for the related activities. development and execution of specific test routines to support the optical commissioning activities. Required Skills and Experience Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience Knowledge in Satellite environment, Ground System and remote sensing in general Basic system management on Linux systems Red Hat, Ubuntu Software development experience in C and Python First experience with simulators and processing chain for optical scanner and bushbroom instruments e.g. ENVISATMERIS or SPOT or similar simulators and processing chain for altimeter systems e.g. JASON, Cryosat Desirable Skills and Experience Software development experience in Matlab and IDL Work Location Noordwijk, Netherlands Dates Application Deadline 16 October 2014 Start of Work 01 January 2015 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
