Polyester intermediate prices have moved into opposite directions in the last week, with PTA dropping and MEG rising. Demand from polyester producers has increased whereas a rebound of crude oil prices could announce an overall rise of prices in the polyester chain. Our weekly report covers the polyester chain in Asia, including PX (paraxylene), PTA (purified terephthalic acid), MEG (mono-ethylene glycol), polyester chips, and polyester staple and filament prices.
