We are currently looking for a Product Processing Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Product Processing Operations Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Data Processing Operations team at EUMETSAT, you will have the following responsibilities Support the operations of the MSG, MTP and EPS data processing systems including Monitoring and reporting on the performance of the data processing systems and the quality and availability of the products Investigating anomalies relating to the performance of the data processing systems and the quality and availability of the products Development and validation of procedures for operating the product generation facilities Providing standby callout support Support to the further development of the MSG and EPS data processing systems, including the specification and validation of system updates Support to the preparation for the future MSG and EPS spacecraft Support for the operations preparation for future programmes, e.g. MTG and EPS SG Participation in technical meetings and formal reviews Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline Operational use and quality control of geophysical data Verification and validation of operational data processing systems UNIXLinux operating systems Monitoring and reporting of near realtime geophysical data production Configuration control of software and data Imaging and sounding instrumentation for remote sensing Programming in C, C, Fortran and scripting in Perl, Python, shell Oracle and SQL Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
