Role Description Summary You will directly report to the Senior Manager Teleport Network Engineering, for the design, implementation, and operation of IP production networks associated with Satellitebased IP platforms, Internet Backbone infrastructure, and media content contributiondistribution. He She will have a dedication and commitment to providing highlevel technical competence, professionalism, and customer service. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Lead the design of the SES Teleport Networks and its associated provisioning and assurance systems, including, but not limited to validation of technical requirements, assessment of platforms or vendors, and budgetary requirements. Intime implementation of the teleport networks nodes and pointsofpresence PoP in line with the design principles and business requirements Strong focus on releasing and maintaining uptodate documentation drawingsoperational procedurestroubleshooting guides. Responsible for proactive maintenance of the teleport networks, through upgrades and preventive maintenances and for reactive maintenance via Level 3 network engineering support to Network Operations staff during office hours and oncall by rotation during out of business hours Engineering and business support for sales, sales engineering, and product development teams both for Video business unit primary and Networks secondary, with a focus on customer requirements, operational efficiency, and budgetary requirements. Senior representative and lead for Teleport Network Engineering in crossfunctional and company strategic projects. Subjectmatter expert in systems and technologies deployed in the Teleport Networks, service provider, and data center best practices as well as excellent mastering of SES service and technologies portfolio. Manage allocated SES sites, hardware upgrades, and capacity planning. Who We Are Looking For More About You To achieve the outcomes described above, we believe you will have the following SkillsCompetencies Excellent problem solving and analytical skills able to deliver visible and measurable results with limited or no supervision and incomplete input. Be able to understand and communicate to others the company goals and maintain focus on the end customer experience and quality of service and infrastructure delivery. Be able to demonstrate excellent documentation and report writing skills for team members andor crossfunctional peers and management. Willingness to explore nextgeneration solutions and technologies and adapt them to SES business needs. Ability to manage complex projects and major network implementations. Systematic and consistent problem and technical issues solving both in business as usual and stress environment. Ability to translate business strategic initiatives into technical solutions and present complex nextgeneration technologies to a nontechnical audience. Qualification Experience University degree in ElectronicsEngineeringIT or equivalent At least 8 years of professional experience in IP networking and LANWAN technologies including but not limited to Layer 2 3, network architecture, and design. Thorough understanding of ISP backbone networks and associated services. Proven track record in design, implementation, and support of high availability IPMPLS networks in the Service Provider domain along with associated security, traffic management, and monitoring systems. Provide a track record of designing and supporting endtoend solutions in a service provider environment is mandatory Experience with satellitedelivered services is a considerable advantage. Very strong knowledge in OSPF, BGP, Multicast, and Unicast. Continuously building experience with other related technologies. At least 5 years of experience in Service Provider networks or Datacenter. At least 3 years of experience in Cisco IOS XEXRNXOS platforms are mandatory Building experience with Juniper platforms andor vendors. Cisco certified at a professional level Routing and Switching track mandatory CCIE RS, as well as additional vendor certifications, are encouraged. Experience with ASA or Fortinet Firewalls Understanding of authentication and authentication protocols such as TACACS, RADIUS, and LDAP and experience in managing IP Address Management tools and managing DNSDHCP servers and services.
