Senior Manager, IT Operations Ref SES0898 Region Europe Location Luxembourg Betzdorf Company SES Category Position Staff Published 20161005 Context The Senior Manager, IT Operations will be responsible for developing business and technology standards and best practices for the IT Operations function. HeShe has the overall responsibility for all IT Operations work, including the operational integration of new technologies. Based on IT Service Management principles, the Senior Manager IT Operations supports the implementation of an end to IT Service Management framework including core processes based on a configuration management environment and service desk tools. Develops enterprise service levels for all IT services under IT Operations responsibility. Oversees the development of procedures and processes for IT Operations. Responsibilities Operate the global IT environment using industry IT Service Management best practice, innovation, as well as SES IT defined architecture standards and guidelines Ensure the enterprise capability to support new technologies and maintain high levels of operational performance and reliability Fill the role of the Incident Process Manager and Process Owner and work in close collaboration with all other IT Service Management Process owners Actively collaborate with all IT engineering teams, the Service Desk and IT customers on a daily basis Supervise a group of engineers that manage all operational aspects of SESs global IT environment, including but not limited to Monitor and improve the availability and all health factors of the IT environment Provide operational support Provide 24 by 7 after hours on call support Monitor and evaluate customer satisfaction with services delivered Devise and maintain standards and standard operating procedures Manage incidents, problems and standard changes in line with functional and security requirements Manage nonstandard changes following input from the IT engineering teams Manage operational business continuity aspects Specify IT Operations technical and documentation requirements Manage relationships with third party suppliers application vendors, maintenance organizations, contractors, consultants, etc Provide 2nd level support for the technical infrastructure Provide ongoing feedback to the IT engineering teams to improve the existing IT environment Works together with VP, IT Service Delivery in continuously finetuning the multisourcing IT Operations strategy Experience Qualifications Master or Bachelor degree in computer science or similar experience Minimum 5 years experience in developingmanaging an operational IT team in a global environment Technical knowledge of the satellite business and its impact for IT and system measures Advanced technical and process knowledge of all IT related topics General knowledge with regard to technical architecture and IT related concepts such as applications, systems, databases, routing, switching, security and IP telephony Experience in deploying industry process standards such as ITIL and COBIT Full comprehension of IT Service Management principles and related processes Financial knowledge to be able to manage budgets Ability to analyze and solve complex IT related problems Ability to work internationally in a resultsoriented environment Experience supporting project management methodologies across a global IS organization Excellent communications skills, both written and oral Fluency in written and spoken English other languages being an asset Strong analytical skills and broad business acumen Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits.
