Software Engineer for Air Traffic Control Systems Development

We are looking for several software engineers with experience in software development, maintenance and support for the development and maintenance of Air Traffic Control related software systems. These are fulltime and unlimited positions located on our customer side at DFS in Langen Frankfurt am Main, Germany. ResponsibilitiesDuties Contribute in a team to requirements engineering, analysis, design, development, verification, validation, integration and maintenance of air traffic control systems developed and used at the German Air Navigation Service Provider. Contribute to the full software development life cycle and maintenance of ATCATM software systems according to the applicable quality and technical standards for ATC software design and development Write and update technical documentation as applicable in the execution of development projects Perform analysis and propose implementation options on problem reports and change requests for ATC systems under development or under maintenance Contribute to the planning and effort estimations for the implementation of software modules and systems as well as for the implementation of change requests and problem corrections Support the customer in technical meetings, discussions and questions on ATC systems design and development approaches, and propose solutions and improvements based on latest techniques and applicable technical standards QualificationsExperience A university degree in aerospace, informatics, mathematics or physics Strong experience in software development and maintenance, including support to customers. Essential Skills ATMATC Systems Knowledge Requirements Engineering C and Java programming languages Source Code Control System e.g. Git or Subversion Development on Linux systems Quality assurance processes, e.g. ED153 SWAL 4 Good communication skills Fluency in spoken and written English German would be an advantage Desirable Skills Knowledge of the PHOENIX ATC System would be an advantage Experience with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Robot Framework, Active MQ, Protocol Buffers Experience in Service Oriented Architecture HPALM Application Lifecycle Management IBM Rational DOORS, IBM Rational Change, Rational ClearCase Eclipse Enterprise Architect ISOIEC 12207 Standard for Information Technology for software development Development based on the VModel Benefits Competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package including 30 days holiday, generous training possibilities, Telespazio VEGA Deutschland pension scheme is offered to the successful candidate.
