Thorn SDS are seeking a number of Spacecraft Operations Engineers to join their team in Germany. Thorn Satellite Data Services Thorn SDS is an independently owned service organisation specialising in the placement, management and development of technical and engineering staff within a wide range of European Space Programmes. From our offices in Darmstadt, Germany, we support supports and manage a growing team of multidisciplined Space professionals. All applicants for these roles must have experienceknowledge in each of the following areas Knowledge of Spacecraft flight operations, including FDIR, for relevant satellite subsystems andor payloads Experience with Packet Utilisation Standard Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000 Familiarity with Earth Observations missions, in particular with Copernicus Sentinels Familiarity with TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible Familiarity with multisatellite missions Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g SVTs Experience in cooperation with Flight Dynamics teams Experience in preparing and execution OnBoard Software Maintenance operations Experience in mission planning operations Candidates will have the ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields and be fluent in English, both spoken and written. Thorn offers a complete bespoke relocation support package for any Successful European candidates living outside of Germany. This includes not only financial support but other aspects such as accommodation, tax registration and information regarding local schools.
