RHEA is currently recruiting a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support a mission within Earth Observation Explorer Mission family at our clients premises in Darmstadt, Germany. The primary areas of responsibility are the Instrument systems including software but it may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Review and assessment of Satellite documentation and support to the Space Segment development Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Spacecraft subsystem knowledgePayloads including software ideally OpticalRadar Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations Fluency in English, both speech and writing Coordination with other service providers in operations team player Interaction with other service providers in operations and other fields e.g. payload ground segment providers Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Ability to work independently The following skills would be highly desirable Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with ground station control processes and setup Familiarity with prelaunch development, integration and testing of ground and space segments Some experience dealing with external interfaces, e.g. Project, Industry, PDGS, nonEuropean mission partners Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites Familiarity with MOIS Familiarity with Ground station scheduling processes Ability to multitask and work in a flexible way How to Apply Looking to take your career to the next level?
