Package Description What we offer if you join our amazing team Competitive Salary Corporate Benefits Package Exciting relocation package if applicable Company events Main Responsibilities This Spacecraft Operations Engineering position is for Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Mission operated by ESOC. The primary areas will be but is not limited to the area of Thermal and Power onboard subsystems. Other areas may include additional subsystems or systems including backup functions within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. The position will be primarily for a specific mission within Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Mission family, i.e. Euclid, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family whenas needed. The general activities to be supported are depending on the phase of the mission Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOVT, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP, Spacecraft Commissioning and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis Successful Candidate Do you think you are the person we are looking for? See below what experience or knowledge you should bring Spacecraft subsystem knowledge on Thermal and Power subsystems Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations Experience in Mission Data Systems from Operator point of view, i.e. Mission Control Systems and Simulators Desirable Requirements Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000, in particular visualisation MIMICs Some experience dealing with external interfaces like the Science Operations Centre, the PROJECT Team of a mission and the industry team for developing the space segment Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with astronomy missions Familiarity with MOIS Familiarity with File Based Operations CCSDS File Delivery Protocol, File Based Operations onboard space to ground Familiarity with some IT background in order to explore improvement of operational tools visualisation of operational relevant information, like progress of a Sky Survey or alike would be desirable i.e knowledge of programming languages like C, Phyton, Java scripts, etc Minimum Bachelor degree and 4 years experience in a similar role.
