This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer 1512095 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support our client ESA at their ESOC site. You will provide general operational support, both in the platform andor instruments area to the Sentinels Copernicus team. You will be responsible for the support to the Sentinels missions as a member of the Flight Control Teams FCT during the operational phases, including special operations i.e. LEOP, Commissioning, deorbiting.. participating in testing campaigns Simulations, SVT, inflight tests. Acting as Expert operations engineer providing support to the platform andor Instruments Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP Support to test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP support general operational support Commissioning support Required Skills and Experience Demonstrated experience with low Earth orbit satellites operations, including experience in preparatory phase OPSPREP, special operations LEOP, Deorbiting campaign and operational phase routine either in Platform and Instruments. Familiarity with satellite control systems, ideally SCOS2000, including data dissemination subsystems like EDDS and MUST Experience in working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle, including validation Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Capable of coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Familiarity with operational simulators, ideally SimSat Experience with TMTC databases, preferably SCOS2000 compatible Experience in ground tests preparation and execution, e.g. SVTs Experience with ground segment integration and validation Experience in validation and verification of Network Distribution and Interface Units or similar EGSE equipment Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with MUST Familiarity with ESOC working environment and Quality Management System QMS Previous experience in the operations of ESA Earth observation missions Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 27 October 2015 Start of Work December 2015 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
