Spacecraft Operations Engineer PowerThermalRF 1623145 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer for our client ESOC. You will be part of a team responsible for the PowerThermalRF but, you may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services, including test, validation and operation of the Mission Control System, Mission Planning System and Simulator. You will be primarily assigned to a particular mission within Earth Observation Explorer Mission family but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family. The general activities to be supported by this service are depending on the phase of the mission Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Software Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Review and assessment of Satellite documentation and support to the Space Segment development Preparation of Functional Requirements for the Project dedicated Flight Control Ground Facilities Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Critical Operations General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis Required Skills and Experience Spacecraft subsystem knowledgePower, thermal, RF, including software Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations Fluency in English, both speech and writing Coordination with other service providers in operations team player Interaction with other service providers in operations and other fields e.g. payload ground segment providers Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Ability to work independently Desirable Skills and Experience Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with ground station control processes and setup Familiarity with prelaunch development, integration and testing of ground and space segments Some experience dealing with external interfaces, e.g. Project, Industry, PDGS Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites Familiarity with MOIS Familiarity with Ground station scheduling processes Ability to multitask and work in a flexible way Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 08 September 2016 Start of Work December 2016 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
