This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer Sentinel2 1412066 Job Description We are looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to work at the European Space Operations Centre ESOC. The selected engineer will assigned to the Sentinel2 mission primarily, but with the possibility to support other missions within the Earth Observation Missions Division. The main area of responsibility is Data Handling, but the selected engineer may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services. Main tasks to be conducted are Validation, test and operation of the MCS, including the OBSM and Mission Planning System Validation, test and operation of the Simulator Generation, validation and maintenance of the FOP primarily on Data Handling, but also for other subsystems Support to test and operate the NDIU Support for FOS procurement, integration and tests Review of satellite documents LEOP support responsible for Data Handling Commissioning support responsible for Data Handling Required Skills and Experience Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, preferably for Data Handling Experience working in an operational environment Experience with flight procedures life cycle Experience with organisation or execution of tests involving both ground and space segment Experience with anomaly investigations Ability to understand and accurately predict behaviour of complex systems Ability to work independently and with little supervision Wellorganised, able to prioritise and manage several activities in parallel Coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with On Board Software maintenance Familiarity with Packet Utilisation Standard Familiarity with the ESOC environment Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat Some experience dealing with external interfaces Familiarity with low Earth orbit satellites Familiarity with multi satellite missions Work Location Darmstadt, Germany Dates Application Deadline 07 September 2014 Start of Work 01 October 2014 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
