Terma Space operates out of Denmark, The Netherlands, Germany, and the UK. Job description For our customer, ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany, we are seeking an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer. The primary area of responsibility is the Aeolus payload chain, including the preparation and validation of the FOP, commissioning plan and payload operations mission planning. You will primarily assigned to a particular mission within the Earth Observation Mission family but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this family. Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken are Study of Project specific Characteristics and Ground Segment Documentation Participation in the Analysis and Design of Satellite Operations Preparation of Flight Control and Contingency Procedures Mission Management and Mission Planning Support Service Production of Project specific Software Validation and Satellite Interface Validation Test SVT Procedures, Reports and Participation in SVTs Participation in the System Operations Validation Test SOV, Training and Simulation Programmes Participation in Launch and Early Orbit Phase LEOP and Mission Critical Operations Preparation of and Participation in the Commissioning Phase General Flight Control Support Service Spacecraft Performance Analysis This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in July 2016. You will be based at ESOCs facilities in Darmstadt, Germany, but occasional travel within Europe may be necessary. Qualifications Competencies Essential skills are Spacecraft subsystem knowledge, with emphasis on the Payload Hands on familiarity with operational tools MCS, Simulator, DB browser, MOIS or equivalent tool Handson familiarity in SVT and flight procedures development Ability to work in an organised manner, with good reporting skills and reliable deadline meeting Coordination skills with internal Flight Control Team, and external ESRIN payload data centre, Satellite developer, simulator developer parties.
