System Architect, Integration and Test Luxembourg Betzdorf Your Job The System Architect, Integration and Test is responsible for defining the SES17 Concept of Operations ConOps and will manage the team from validation testing in the Lab into an operational environment, live air testing and the transition to operations. The system components include Modem Platform, GEO satellite link and control environment including GCS TTC, resource allocation software, aggregated databases and configuration databases as well as business support system. In addition, a major task is ensuring the coherence of the GEO infrastructure deployment and validation with the MEO mPOWER infrastructure as well as future SESNext Ground and Space Segment infrastructure. Your Responsibilities Lead the definition of SES17 System Architecture and ConOps Lead the System Test and Integration team Drive timely delivery execution and delivery of SES17 HTS Ground System requirements Specify and setup a lab environment intended to become a full test setup Define Test plans and procedures for integration and validation of the overall endtoend communication system Review System design documentation for space segment and Ground segment of the SES17 system Prepare and approve the SES17 system requirements, concepts of operation, interfaces and define accordingly the test plans Drive SES17 system reviews for the space segment, ground segment and service software projects Validate the full resource allocation software, aggregated databases and configuration databases as well as business support systems Support the validation of capacity planning tools Ensure design and CONOPS endorsement by required teams Your Experience Qualifications Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or related scientificengineering fields Minimum 10 years of work experience in Satellite communications domain, working on operation, modem system, satellite terminals, satellite endtoend communication systems Work experience with system design, hardware or software development related to the Space and Ground segment of satellite communication systems Work experience of leading test and integration teams related to satellite communications, test plans and procedures for integration testing Essential experience Strong experience in Link budget, payload operation, antenna patterns Experience with satellite communication systems, transmission standards, modulation and decoding techniques of satellite communication paths, satellite transmission standards DVBS2S2X, DVBRCS2 Experience with Satellite systems and space segment operational concepts Experience in Satellite telecommand and control system Experience with software development processes, integration and test procedures, unit testing, concepts of automated testing of software integrated systems Experience with hardware electronic development cycles and related integration and testing processes Software and Programming languages experience Matlab, Python Ability to explain complex concepts to nontechnical stakeholders Highly desirable experience several of the following Knowledge and basic experience of Software testing methods Knowledge of testing procedure automation and automated unit testing methodologies Experience with some basic software development with proven projects in commercial operation today Knowledge basis of agile methodologies for software development Experience with database techniques such as SQL for example Experience with Integrated Development Environment IDE Experience in utilities programming, debuggers and debugging techniques Experience with virtualization techniques and operating systems Experience with Satellite operation and anomaly management Proven work attitude Ability to work with remote management and team members Ability to work with cross functional teams Some travel required especially to the US Whats in it for you?
