We are currently looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Space Exploration division in Kanata, ON. JOB PURPOSE The Systems Engineer develops system concepts and architectures for new and existing space flight systems. He or he will specify interfaces between hardware and software to develop and integrate cohesive systems and products. He or she will determine systems architecture specifications and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility and coordinates the development of subsystems and integrates the total system. Heshe will designs, develop, and implement interfaces between hardware and software to develop and integrate cohesive systems and products. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Applying mature engineering knowledge to large andor complex projects in the design of products or tools, Depending on the difficulty of assigned problems, may require modification of established techniques and methods, and develop new approaches to reach a solution, Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria to achieve desired results, Develops system and operational concepts for new or existing products. Prepares reports documenting results of these activities, Collaborates with customers and other engineering project team members to develop architectures, requirements and specifications for new systems, Develops procedures for testing and validations system requirements, Coordinates and supports integration and testing activities, Documents reports documenting test results, Prepares procedures for operational use of systems, Supports investigations and troubleshooting of system problems and issues. The ideal candidate is ready to take the next step in his or her career by taking on project management responsibilities. This will include leading a team of engineers on a project basis including Developing plans, Assigning and monitoring individual objectives, Providing feedback to staff on their performance, Participating in the technical work within the team by overseeing and advising others, or by contributing directly to the development of solutions, Managing project budgets and resources, Coordinating and reporting on the schedule of deliverables agreed to for the team. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS BScMS in Engineering or equivalent, Project Management Certification or working towards, 35 years experience working in a technical capacity, Knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration andor test of space flight hardware, Experience with development, design, test and integration, and engineering analysis, Advanced skills using Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc., Experience working with vendor partners in various levels technical and business relationship engagement, Highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills, initiative, superior problem solving skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and willingness to learn and adapt, Some knowledge and experience in the design, analysis, integration andor test of space flight hardware, Experience with development, design, test and integration, and engineering analysis, Familiar with Project Management tools and techniques for both timeline and resource management i.e. Microsoft Project, Project management knowledge and experience , Deadline oriented with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, Fluent written and oral English language. ASSETS Experience in aerospace industry working with customers such as the Canadian Space Agency. Must have or be eligible to obtain a Government of Canada Security Clearance Secret Level II Neptec offers a competitive compensation package to commensurate with experience.
