DISCUSSION AND 48-HOUR OUTLOOK ------------------------------ At 300 AM MDT (0900 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Four-E was located near latitude 12.5 North, longitude 112.0 West. The depression is moving toward the west near 6 mph (9 km/h). A westward motion at a faster forward speed is expected during the next 48 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is expected to become a tropical storm later today.
