DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Norbert was located near latitude 19.8 North, longitude 111.7 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 13 mph (20 km/h). This general motion is expected to continue through Wednesday, followed by a slower forward speed as Norbert turns northward on Thursday. Satellite-derived wind data indicate that maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next couple of days, and Norbert is forecast to dissipate by Thursday night. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
