SUMMARY OF 800 AM PDT...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...15.7N 118.8W ABOUT 765 MI...1230 KM SW OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...NW OR 305 DEGREES AT 9 MPH...15 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1006 MB...29.71 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 800 AM PDT (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression One-E was located near latitude 15.7 North, longitude 118.8 West. The depression is moving toward the northwest near 9 mph (15 km/h). A motion toward the west-northwest is expected today, followed by a turn toward the west later tonight. Maximum sustained winds remain near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and the depression is expected to degenerate into a remnant low this afternoon or tonight.
